Balance Exercise and Nutrition with Essential Oils

It is that time of year when we start thinking about New Year resolutions and people start looking at making changes. Specifically, people start looking to make changes in regards to their Health and Wellness. You start to hear people talk about “losing weight” or “eating healthy”. Those goals are great but there is something they are leaving out, and that is essential oils. Think of health and wellness as a triangle or pyramid shape (Nutrition, Exercise, Essential Oils). Essential oils balance anyone’s health and wellness program, from the professional athlete to the person that is just starting out regardless of age.

How do essential oils balance health and wellness you may ask? The foundation of health and wellness programs start with good nutrition and adequate physical activity. These two essential elements help keep the body functioning properly and at peak efficiency. There is numerous research that shows poor nutrition and physical activity contribute to chronic disease. Essential Oils help support the body in its ability to maintain healthy physical and mental well being. Let’s start by understanding why physical activity or exercise is important.

Exercise:

If you don't exercise, your muscles will become flabby and weak. Your heart and lungs won't function efficiently. And your joints will be stiff and easily injured. Inactivity is as much of a health risk as smoking! There are numerous studies to that lack of physical activity

  • Helps Prevent Diseases

  • Exercise controls weight

  • Strengthens and Tones

  • Enhances Flexibility

  • Exercise improves mood

  • Keeps bones strong

  • Improves Sleep

  • Exercise puts the spark back into your sex life :-)

The bottom line is exercise and physical activity are a great way to feel better, boost your health and have fun. Aim for at least 150 minutes per week of moderate-intensity exercise, or 75 minutes per week of vigorous exercise.

Try to engage in a combination of vigorous and moderate aerobic exercises, such as running, walking or swimming. Squeeze in strength training at least twice per week by lifting free weights, using weight machines or doing body weight exercises. We will be doing a series on exercise and programs as we start to move into the new year.
